Lovot, the robot made in Japan that makes people happy

Lovot, a robot that's made to be loved by you

The Japanese have accustomed us to bizarre ideas about technology and beyond. To continue this sort of "tradition" thinks Lovot, a sort of version 2.0 of Tamagotchi that, at the end of the 90s, was a passing fad that involved a little around the world.

But what is this vaguely anthropomorphic object really? It is a real robot made with the clear aim of making people happy and, to do so, it has been programmed to interact with them.

The behavior of Lovot closely resembles that of a puppy or a child and it is the union of an artificial intelligence and fifty sensors. Precisely these sensors, in addition to giving a perception of what surrounds the robot, allow him to interpret what happens around him and to respond with actions that recall human emotions. Far from the concept of robot potential danger to mankind, Lovot should inspire confidence and a sense of well-being in the people who own it.

This interesting project was developed by Kaname Hayashi, CEO of Groove X and former employee of SoftBank, a company in which he directed the development of the Pepper robot, which can therefore in some way be considered related to Lovot.

The device in question weighs about 3 kilos and moves thanks to the wheels. Through the thermal video camera, he identifies people as they roam around the house, looking for people to perform interactions such as asking to be picked up and being pampered. The same design from the purely aesthetic point of view has been developed to inspire tenderness in human beings.

If you are interested in this Lovot you will have to arm both patience and a lot of money: although the robot can already be booked, delivery is scheduled at the beginning of 2020. Cost? 349,000 yen, a figure that corresponds to about 2,26,000 INR.
