The Philips SmartSleep, a kind of band that monitors our sleep while we sleep. This intelligent device is equipped with two sensors, one side and one front, which detect the different phases of sleep in real time. But Philips SmartSleep is designed to improve sleep for those who sleep less than 7 hours a day, without the need for drugs and developed jointly with medical professionals and researchers. The use of Philips SmartSleep aims to improve sleep quality, increase user energy and reduce daytime sleepiness.

Its operation is very simple. The two sensors placed on the tape detect when the user has entered the phase of deep sleep. When in this state, Philips SmartSleep activates some auditory tones that favors and prolongs the duration of the phase, obtaining a greater rest. The volume is low enough so as not to awaken the individual with an algorithm that acts according to sleep patterns. In the SleepMapper app , all the sleep indicators and the improvements obtained with the Philips SmartSleep are displayed.

The headband uses dual adhesive sensors that last up to 3 nights. The smart device includes a total of 30 units and there will be spare parts available. The autonomy of the Philips SmartSleep band reaches up to 3 nights of use with a USB rechargeable battery. Its price is $ 399, Its Indian price is still unknown.

The headband is simple to put on, padded and with a textile exterior. It is available in two sizes for a perfect adaptation to our head and thus prevent the movement of it during the night. The battery is placed in the front, is the area where least annoying and does not look like heating, something essential in a product like this. Evidently it's effectiveness has not been verified, although they assure results in the first days of use. We will have to wait until we have a unit to test it in India.
